Beautiful welcoming
At the beginning of the June we had our last exchange week in this school year. 4 student( Helena, Kadri, Hanna-Grete, Marianne) and 3 teachers( Florika, Siiri, Jaana) went to Romania, Petrosani. We started our journey on Monday early morning(03.06.13). It was 00.30 when we started our way to Tallinn airport- all sleepy, but excited to visit Romania! Our flight was 6 a.m. to Frankfurt, then we had about 6 hours free time and next flight was about 2 p.m. to Bucharest- about 5 p.m. we reached to Romania! Believe it or not, but this was just the beginning of our journey! We thought that we had to drive about 4 hours to Petrosani, but basically it took about 6 hours! It was quite late and dark outside, so we really couldn`t see the mountains, but the ride to Petrosani was really great(greetings to our transfer driver Kris :D). We reached to Petrosani about 00.30, so exactly 24 hours long was our trip from Tallinn to Petrosani. Our hosts took us our homes and everyone had a great meeting night with lots of food, kisses and hugs, so the greetings were really nice. Next day, 04.06.13, we went to their school- Technic College "Dimitrie Leonida" Petrosani. Schoolhouse was so big, there were basically 3 schoolhouses that we visited. First we had an opening speeches and even some local TV program was there to film us, that was surprise. (You can watch it here, from 15.38 http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=3Gd3trMmGik). After that we visited their schoolhouses and had a lunch. They don`t have a school canteen, so they had ordered some food just for us. After lunch we visited Petrosani, which was really beautiful. We also visited university, medical school etc. After that we had a free time with our host, but in the evening we all went for a dinner. On Wednesday we visited Hunedoara County. It was about half and hour ride and we all could watch the beautiful nature and mountains while our ride. We visited Huniazilor Castle and had a little shopping time to buy some souvenirs. After that we went to Deva, which was really big city. There we had a lunch and we could also watch the amazing view to Deva. Afternoon we had a shopping time in Deva and then we started our way back to Petrosani. In the evening we had free time with our hosts, so everyone spent time differently ( some of us went to mountains, which was really amazing). On Thursday, our last project day, was time to do a little bit project work. :D First, in the morning we spent time in their classes. It was really amazing how cool were their classes. Basically because it is technique collage, they do practical things. Example, we went to class, where we all got new hairstyles, make up, nails, even massage! It was really great experience to see how students learn to do such things. After some beauty time :D, we spent some time in computer class and had to make a presentation on Estonian food and later we presented it. Afternoon we had a project finishing and we all got certificates. Then we had our last night in Petrosani which we spent in a really great restaurant, thank you Milena! :) Next morning we had to leave 6.15 a.m . It was actually great experience for all of us- new experiences, different culture and people. Some of us got new friends, also we managed to learn a little bit romanian. So we reached about midnight to Tallinn and then we had a ride to Põlva. I would like to thank you all, it was really enjoyable project meeting! Greetings to all of you! Hope to see you all again! :) Mulțumesc! :)
Today we had our last Comnius meeting this schoolyear. Thanks to everyone who turned up and gave their feedback on the past year. I was glad to realise that everyone (including myself) enjoyed the experience a lot. Let's hope the next year will be even more exciting. In a week some of us (Siiri, Jaana, Marianne, Hanna-Grete, Kadri, Helena and me) are going to visit our friends and project partners in Petrosani, Romania. I'm sure it is going to be fun. See you in September!!!!
PS! I'm sure the turbo girls Kadri and Helena are going to tell you about our meeting in Romania before they start enjoying the summer though... It is our third and also last day of the exchange week. In the morning students had a opportunity to take part in art workshop and teachers had a educational system workshop. Students made themselves cornflower, which is Estonian national flower, also they made some cards, where they used sand, leaves, branches etc. After that we had a school lunch and then we went to Karilatsi, Põlva Peasant Museum. There we had a guide, who talked about Karilatsi and we had a opportunity to look around by ourselves and do some tasks. Then we went to Taevaskoja, which is one of the most frequently visited places in southern Estonia. The sandstone outcrops and ancient river here form the most beautiful part of the Ahja River Landscape Reserve. Legends talk of caves and secret passageways and of demons and mermaids. We walked there and guest admired our beautiful nature. We made also our group picture to perpetuate our project meeting.
In the evening we had a friendship concert, where every country performed with their song, dance etc. It was really beautiful and interesting to see other cultures and music, dances. For the conclusion everyone had brought some food and we enjoyed the last evening. We, students, also visited our nightclub "Kino" and danced and enjoyed the party. Next morning our guests left( except The Czech Republic, who stayed for one more day). It was really great exchange week. We all got some new friends and we had a lot of fun together. Thank you all! :) It is our exchange week second day. In the morning our guests were with us in the lessons and they had a opportunity to learn and watch our lessons. After some lessons we all had an early lunch and then we went to Tartu city. There we visited science centre AHHAA, which they really liked. After that we had a little tour in Tartu. We showed them most important places, example university of Tartu, theater Vanemuine etc. Then our guests had a little bit time to look around themselves and buy some souvenirs etc. After that was time to go back to Põlva. Everyone were tired of the trip and spend the evening in their homes.
It is first day of the exchange week. In Estonia are 2 project meetings: NWOL- New Ways Of Living and Rights makes no differences. We have here Turkey, Romania, Spain, Italy, Slovakia, Germany, The Czech Republic and Poland.
First we had some warm up games to get to know each other, then a quiz on the countries participating in the meeting and we also taught them a little bit Estonian language. After that we had our school lunch and then we had a walk in the schoolhouse and then we showed them our Põlva city. Then the evening was free and some of us had grilling and chilling to get to know each other a little bit more. Hei folks...our Comenius week has more or less started as our first guests, from Izmir, Turkey have arrived in Põlva. Estonia greeted them with sunny and warm weather ...let the party begin!!!!!
Today we discussed our project meeting and did some organization things. Also we managed to finish our poster, which you will see soon! :)
Kadri and Helena are making a new poster for the project meeting, what is going to be in May. Sun is shining and it`s almost spring :) See you soon Turkey, Romania, Czech Republic and Poland! :)
In the early morning our guests left to Tallinn. They wanted to see our capital and do some last minute shopping. In the evening they left by plane. It was really great week with the Dutch and we all are going to miss them. We hope to see them in the near future! :)
